If I want to use my computer to access anything these days, I have to have my phone as well because of 'two-step verification'.

My phone?

Anyone can grab it and access anything because all it needs is the password and most people leave them up so that they can access their stuff faster.

So, all it takes is someone stealing your phone.

Why in the royal fuck did they do this in this way?

Simple. They want your information this easily accessible. They want you to use a phone that can easily be stolen and they don't want you to use your computer because they can't get into it as easily as your phone.

Phone service providers and manufacturers paid a pretty penny over the years to make this happen.

And, of course, we let them, Now, they hold our lives hostage because they hold the only real access device allowed without scrutiny on the internet.

All by design.
