He hoped I'd meet a future husband at a mixer for pre-law or pre-med, someone with connections.

I ended up liking the school, eschewing the prep school debutantes and hanging with a bunch of gals who smoked, drank, and swore and dated unemployed rock musicians. It was a blast.
