'I'm just trying to give a damn about my community': Graham Platner on his run for Senate in Maine - Velshi - MSNBC [View all]
Graham Platner, an oyster farmer and military veteran running in the Democratic Senate primary in Maine, says he isn’t a typical politician and is proud of it. He told Ali Velshi, “I just think that we need to send regular working people up to Washington to represent regular working people.”
He hopes his working-class background and economic populist campaign will unseat five-term Republican Senator Susan Collins, whom Platner calls, “Someone who is playing a game and trying to protect their political power without really trying to represent the constituency.” - Aired on 09/07/2025.
