rfk indicates, by shutting down research , that they know how to cure many diseases.

the drugs may just be so rare that they must be rationed, or

so expensive that they don't want to pay for medicare retirees

or they have reakized that keeping billions of reproducing humans alive is less fun for them.

immortality (actually medical extension of life) also upends the religious foundation of the maga base so would be secret.
