Amazingly!
It's an epic tale that involved several DUers who came to my rescue when I needed them most. One DUer, at my destination location, was able to help me rent a room where I ended up that night and after I had some sleep I got a call, on my cellphone, from the manager of the gas station where I left the wallet, he had it, intact, and wanted to know what to do with it. I got up and after a hot shower it dawned on me that "DU always comes through!" I got out my laptop and sent out a call for help. That help arrived in a few minutes! I needed help taking my vehicle off the trailer so I could blast back up the Interstate, 70 miles, at the speed limit. (The truck was a massive frustration with all its computerized speed controls, would have cost me a few hours more making that trip.)
A couple Duers were there to help me with unloading and reloading my vehicle and the day was saved in SO many ways. In the end I was only 18 hours off schedule and about 50 miles off route so it wasn't the worst thing on the planet like it could have been. That all happened in central Illinois, I was only half way through my trip. I am eternally grateful to those DUers and DU for saving me from a horrible fate!
