We are in a Quandary, a Catch-22; on average, I receive 12-14 requests for donations to fight a worthy cause daily.

From February 4th through today, February 22, I have received 182 requests for worthy causes; even at a minimum donation of $5.00, that would be $910.00 in less than a month. Seriously, who can afford that while living in retirement?

Anyone who doubts these figures should send me their email addresses, and I will forward all 182 to you and new ones each day.

We have stopped donating money through aggregators, as they sell their contact lists. And yes, I know our political candidates sell their lists, too.

Our solution was for the candidates and causes we wanted to support. We went to our bank and set up a Political Donation checking account with only the minimum information on the check—no name, address, or personal info. And for the signature, even my mother wouldn't know it was me. It's a scribble at best.

Yes, it takes a little more work to find each candidate's or cause's USPS address, but it is worth the effort. It allows us to send more dollars to those on the USPS mailing list without fearing an additional onslaught in our daily emails.
