3. I am so proud of Bernie and AOC and others speaking truth to power.

And yes, I'm kind of mad as hell at the others who aren't speaking out. People I admire and respect but as history proves, silence is complicity.

I probably won't be updating the FAFO flags and the Daily Economic report, because they seem to have no impact, and they take a lot of time, especially the graphics, and as the man says: The ONLY way that real change ever takes place is from the bottom on up.

I've been posting on the mostly conservative entrepreneur site Hacker News on. how they hoodwinked themselves. Here's an example:

Yeah, it's a FAFO extraordinaire.

While libertarians supported Trump in order to be unregulated (AI, crypto) they will regret the decision when they are increasingly forced to give white supremacy a controlling seat at the board table (the other side of the coin, or as Paul Harvey says "the REST of the story" )

People make such Faustian bargains. Research underlies Silicon Valley's growth and is its lifeblood. Here's one scientist's regret. And biomedical research is a powerful force behind valley entrepreneurship.

That awkward moment when you get exactly what you voted for.

I am an NIH-funded biomedical scientist with conservative leanings. I know at least a dozen scientists (a small closeted minority) who voted for Trump, largely because of frustrations with DEI and extreme wokeness that had permeated every aspect of University life. Each one of us deeply regrets their vote for Trump and are utterly ashamed of it.

We are absolutely horrified at how mindlessly destructive this admin has been to scientific institutions. They are single-handedly destroying the STEM dominance US established over decades.

Average Americans simply do not realize that we are now on the verge of a precipitous decline in STEM. We all admit that the warnings about Trump/MAGA were on target, and the thing we argue about now is whether the damage is even reversible. All the Lefty overreach was annoying as hell but the MAGA disdain for science is 100X worse.

And I am friends (at a distance) with a guy who thinks just like that, and uses the same dogwhistle catchphrases.
I figure that as the valley folks catch wise to the game, they'll turn on the Traitor-in-Chief.

If your weren't aware of the insanity behind Musk and company, I have posted that here. It's sinister Bond Villian rubbish. (chiefly Drax)
