In a news release Friday, the Justice Departments Environment and Natural Resources Division (ENRD) said the dismissal of the case complied with President Donald Trumps executive order targeting diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives across the federal government. The department said such initiatives include environmental justice efforts aimed at reducing pollution in minority communities. The population in LaPlace is predominantly Black.
