40. He was born & raised in Chicago, but he's a citizen of Peru now

I just read in the AP News story that the new Pope lived in Peru as a missionary for a long time and he became a citizen about 10 years ago. Maybe now that he's permanently in the Vatican, he'll become an Italian citizen?
I don't know how that usually works.
