In reply to the discussion: Attacks on Jews 'understandable': ADL survey reveals alarming antisemitic views among Americans [View all]Beastly Boy
(13,089 posts)11. This implies that antisemitism is a predominantly right wing problem.
It is not. Antisemitism is not partisan.
Nearly one in four Americans (24 percent) said the attacks were understandable and a similar percentage believed they were false flag operations meant to increase support for Israel. Moreover, 22 percent said the incidents were not antisemitic, 15 percent said the violence was "necessary," 14 percent didnt consider them hate crimes and 13 percent said they were "justified."

The troubling thing for diaspora Jews is, antisemitism is by no means limited to Israel/Palestine/Hamas issues. While right-wing antisemitism never relied on the Israel/Palestine conflict to excuse their bigotry, it is predominantly the left-wing antisemitism that is using the war as an excuse to vocalize and practice their bigotry out in the open.
Until recently, antisemitism was almost exclusively associated with the right wing. This is no longer the case. Certainly, wiping Hamas off the planet will not make a dent in antisemitism being normalized and institutionalized in the US.

You're correct that "antisemitism [is never acceptable but] is out of control in Gaza".
