I still retain some of my old Democratic notions of crediting people with decent instincts and humane outlooks. But I'm doing my best to shove such quaint feelings to the side---we're entering a life-or-death national battle where such comforting feelings are a hindrance rather than a help. I suggest that others do likewise---we can reclaim our best motivations after the battle is won. No sense in handing trump's hordes with an easy victory.
