Showing Original Post only (View all)Welp, MAHER took a lousy shot at COLBERT in tonight's "Overtime". [View all]
*** No need for feverish declarations about hating MAHER, thanks. My position is what a DUer said about Tweety (Chris MATTHEWS, for the younguns), " *WHEN* he's on our side there's nobody better." Please let this topic run its course which will be BRIEF without any help from the feverish declarations of MAHER-hate, really *thanks*.
*** So the premise was an item that there's a Saudi event featuring COMEDIANS (being paid tons), and MAHER said that, wow, some of the participants are friends of his - mentioned only Bill BURR, Whitney CUMMINGS, the C.K. one.
So, when he finished up, he threw in, (paraphrasing) "Maybe COLBERT can get a job over there."
Now, over the years I've seen a couple of clips of MAHER-COLBERT in which they (or rather MAHER) clashed, and what I saw was about Stephen's sincere Catholicism vs MAHER's atheism. But then later I saw a clip of MAHER saying that he deeply detests COLBERT, specifically saying that "he's had success because he gave corporate media what they wanted" (paraphrase), which, since now-years later we've seen corporate kissing KRASNOV's ass and ditching COLBERT, is far from correct, just MAHER's personal animosity.
My own personal disappointments of participating in this event: BURR, JEFFRIES, SANTINO/LEE, IGLESIAS.
*** O.K. let the MAHER fire bombing proceed.

Oddly enough, I was referring to your opinion of Maher not arguing for or against it. Weak tea tonight, my friend!

I think the shot was at trump for any influence on firing. Colbert will do well.

Bruni: It's not about politics, about getting paid a lot. Maher: "Maybe Colbert could get a job over there."

I specified my having seen MAHER-COLBERT clashes, and adding here MAHER's *stated* personal animosity.
