(16,788 posts)24. I hate Republicans. They are always so goddamned eager for war.
The Pentagon gets billions of dollars whether they need it or not. If they don't have a really good reason to start a war, then they'll make one up (see Afghanistan and Iraq). In the long run the U.S. is never any safer because of their wars, but it sure does line the pockets of the billionaires.
It's like the old saying where if you have a hammer than everything looks like a nail. The Pentagon has the means to bully smaller countries so they see a reason to kill them because...

I am not aware of any indication that the people on the boat were sailors, that is, members of the Venezuelan Navy.
