New York, New York [View all]

Can we take a minute to understand an important, emerging component of this election?

The current Democratic mayor of NYC, who is absolutely a criminal, was given a "get out of jail free" card for kissing Mango Mussolini's...ring...is now in negotiations with the same said administration to bow out of the election in exchange, potentially, for an Ambassadorship in Saudi Arabia.

Why you ask?

Because the former Democratic governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, also a criminal, now running as an independent, and in a budding relationship with Mango Mussolini, can run in an open field, against just Mamdani.

Let that sink in: the current Democratic mayor of NYC and the former Democratic governor of the state of New York, are conspiring with the current Republican president of the US, against the official Democratic nominee for Mayor of NYC, Mamdani.

Despite that, Democratic leadership in Congress has been tepid, at best, about endorsing the Democratic Party's official nominee for Mayor of NYC.

He is likely to win anyway but this is a perfect example of where we are hurting ourselves, over and over again, like a reflex, to belittle or even attack, the liberal progressive members of the Democratic Party.
Then complain when they don't show up on Election Day.

Rank and file Democrats are begging for younger leaders.
Rank and file Democrats are begging for bigger ideas.
Rank and file Democrats are begging Democratic leadership to embrace more progressive ideas.

Yes, we need to support Democrats. So how about we try supporting the Democrats and the ideas, that are packing venues for people like Bernie and AOC?
How about we support the guy with a funny sounding last name that won his primary by double digits and believes in a better housing and urban development model than the same old thing?
Support Democrats. Even the "crazy" Democrats that want to give people free rides on public transportation.

We, as a country, are in a very bad place and we desperately need to move the country back to the left politically and that is not going to happen by ignoring the progressive wing of the Party. It's only going to make things worse.
