Even if I had a good tan, I am still a descendent of Protestant Irish. There is little way, outside of a good-ass makeup team, to make me look ethnic.

I agree with you though, I may start dusting off my French. With the current state of affairs in Paris, our regime might decide that they are 'undesirable' as well, Statue of Liberty (as well as our very nation's existence) be damned.
