(58,865 posts)Although this guy Kirk was preaching to a substantial choir, at the end of the day, thats all he was preaching. With hate rhetoric as thick as his, its rather obvious he was stirring up a frenzy among his own followers for his own benefit. We have a few people like that, but they dont go around preaching righteous violence like the radical right does. There are control freaks, and then there are control freaks. The more powerful and influential a control freak gets, the more jealousy builds up within the movements own ranks (Im thinking Trotsky vs. Stalin as an example). The American radical right is the gun-worshipping crowd in America, not the left. Sure, plenty of us own guns. The number of us that worship those guns or have basements stocked with dozens of them and a thousand rounds of ammunition are practically zero.
The extremist right wants to find a perp among the ranks of the left, but NOT because they really expect to find him there. Frankly, despite his noise, I wouldnt honor him with having been worth the effort. This hit was well-planned, and the getaway flawless (so far, anyway). This sounds like someone is setting some up to take the fall because the people who set it up do NOT want the shooter found alive. He might have some stories to tell that a few Trumpanzees do not want told publicly.
Of course, I could be wrong anout all this, and it was just some highly intelligent, well armed 19 year old in a Che Guevara T-shirt. But it just doesnt smell like it.
