agreed with everything he did or said, she would be someone I would have nothing to do with. Still neither her husband or she should be killed for their beliefs.

I understand that in respect to those mourning, the comments of most Democrats, decrying murder and hate, are the best responses. Yet as MAGA and others on the right have been almost turning him into a saint, I also understand the need of many, especially those harmed by him, of recounting the very disgusting things he has done and said.

His comments on LGBTQ+, POC, immigrants, non Christians and women are pretty bad .. in some cases evil. For anyone this is bad, but through his charisma and organization, he commands a huge megaphone. He used that megaphone to call on people to think as he does and to hate those he hates.

My thoughts stemmed from seeing 2 Facebook posts from people I know. One, was a long post that explained how he has led efforts to harass professors, who are POC or especially if they teach gender studies. Reading it he caused a lot of harm. This was posted by a distant relative of my husband's, who I almost always agree with.

The other was a video of Kirk calmly and politely proving to a questioner that Jesus was God. The person who posted that is a kind, religious woman in her 60s. In her case, she likely saw this video, hear all the comments on what a good person he was and heard NOTHING about his comments that we have all seen.

The latter one is why the former one is probably necessary because otherwise political correctness (in its real meaning) means we cede a huge number of points to MAGA. After all, in addition to raising Kirk, they are ascribing to us the blame for violent rhetoric and division while painting themselves as innocent.
