If he hunted, he likely camped. Additionally, there are cabins scattered throughout the mountains and canyons. Elizabeth Smart’s kidnappers hid in the mountains relatively close to SLC. My husband’s family is in SLC and I’ve thought the shooter likely found a way to get to the mountains and disappear. I believe the Atlanta Olympic bomber evaded authorities by hiding in the wilderness as well.
