It's the same during the Trump rally shooting. They see white men with guns and see them as one of them.

It would only be seen as a possible threat if they were non white.

I saw a student say they had tickets for the event but they didn't check and anyone was able to come in.

They thought it's not a blue state and it's mostly a white place so it will be safe unlike the places they are sending national guard and others.
