I still have yet to see the gleeful celebrations at Kirk's death [View all]

that so many right-wingers and others claimed burst forth from American liberals on Wednesday. I have seen liberals make note of the awful things Kirk promoted in attempts to soberly calm some of the hagiography erupting from the entire ring-wing sphere and the mainstream media.

But outright "celebration"? Nope.

Maybe they thought it was celebratory in contrast to the silence that met the ongoing stream of political violence committed by thousands of American right wing extremists over the last decades. I am sure there were some on the left who used Kirk's death as fodder for humor, as Kirk did with the brutal assault suffered by Nancy Pelosi's family. But those were largely passed in personal communique.
