Question re surveys and petitions [View all]

I'm on the email lists of a number of solid progressive organizations; I'm also on the email lists of my Senators and congresscritters. When they send surveys, I participate. And when they ask me to sign petitions, I'm there. But after I answer/sign it continues to a request for donation. I get it, causes and campaigns cost money. Problem is, even before my SNAP benefits disappeared I didn't have the money to send. Question: Since I can't donate, do my survey answers still count, is my signature still added to petitions?
