They said "We want to pay, but we can't. It would be illegal. It's the Democrats fault"

When "it would be illegal" was exposed as a big fat lie, they should have just taken the loss. Then they could have said, "See, we're paying. We always wanted to. We really thought we couldn't. We were mistaken."

But no. They appeal and thereby expose "We want to pay" as a big fat lie too.
