29. Those electoral wins have no bearing on Congress at this point

It's easy to say that they just have to hold out, but that has to be balanced against their obligations to federal workers, to people on SNAP, to people who need government services. I don't know how I'd vote in their position, but I know it's far more complicated than you're making it out to be.
