There were JUST enough defectors to pass the vote. So either Schumer has no control over the Senate minority, or this was orchestrated in a way to protect anyone who might face immediate blowback. Take your pick. Neither one of those options is portraying strong leadership. We just ended the longest shutdown in history for...nothing. NOTHING! People are pissed and rightfully so. In times like this, people want to feel like their leaders are fighting for them and providing a real opposition. This ain't it
