Grijalva will be sworn in once the house reconvenes to vote on the senate version of the CR.

Her signature on the discharge petition only forces the house to vote on a resolution demanding DOJ release the Epstein files, putting every rep on record as supporting or opposing the release.

The resolution would then go to the senate, where it would die. Even if it passed, Trump would veto or ignore it.

There was never a chance that the house could “force” the DOJ to release the Epstein files- that was a myth.
