I see your point and I think you are correct.

Dems saved the filibuster. 👍

Dems put the Republicans on notice over ACA - they have 2 choices 1) refuse the vote or 2) vote it down. Either way they own it.

Dems assured SNAP will continue.

Dems saved some RIFs of Federal employees and, hopefully, back pay.

I also agree the Marie Antoinette moments and his flagging energy will be apparent to the nation.

But (there’s that word!) a lot can happen between now and 2026. Democrats must change leadership for younger people and Democrats over 70 should retire (I’m 75).

We Democrats need a strong message of who WE are and not who THEY are. There’s a lot of sound bites and photos to back this up. More Reagan clips would be helpful. Stop running against Trump and run for working Americans.

Democrats must stop responding to the Republican narrative about LGBTQ folks. Everytime a Republican brings up transgender or gay marriage - let’s talk about Project 2025 defunding Gaullaudet University, and closing the Office of Special Education.

… Project 2025 undermine public education, a fundamental pillar of our democracy. Specifically, they recommend that the next far-right administration redirect taxpayer dollars intended for K-12 public education to fund private and religious schools for the wealthy; roll back Title IX, which prohibits discrimination based on sex; eradicate Head Start; block student debt cancellation programs and increase monthly payments for student loan borrowers; censor anti-racist curricula that teach tolerance in schools; and eliminate school nutrition programs, particularly for children experiencing food insecurity during the summer when they lack access to school meals.

More

And much, much more.

Edited to add - Epstein, Epstein, Epstein, Maxwell is a sexual abuser, too. Just because she is a woman doesn’t mean she can’t/won’t abuse more young girls in the future.
