They'd only do it if they thought they'd get away with it - and I don't think they're that crazy. Which is why I think the people who insist that they've already destroyed the files are silly. I am confident the files still exist in their original form (somewhere) and they will eventually see the light of day (someday - but I have no idea when).

According to this video by Allison Gill, there are more than 1000 people who have seen the files and know what in them. She has talked to some of these people and thus has specific details on what in there.
