Even if they did, it wouldn't be safe to deploy them in the Straits because of anti aircraft weapons, and, wait for it, Iranian mines. When needed, the Navy relies on aircraft to drop mines. Also a bad idea; anti aircraft weapons. Some submarines have the capability of laying mines. Another bad idea - Iranian mines. Let's be honest here. The Iranians own the Straits and the Persian Gulf and there is nothing we can do about it.

You are right about one thing. We are on the outside waiting for Trump to scrape his act together, admit defeat, and cut a deal with Iran.
