7. recognizing the self-evident evil of this action -- need to point to how it hurts its own cause

When you take this kind of politically expansive position, trying to make an appeal to those who are less automatically horrified in the same way as you or I, there is the risk of at least implicitly understating that immediately overwhelming moral disgust in order to make a plea to anyone who might possibly be swayed

Israel is something of a democracy and yet keeps electing governments to power that seem utterly deaf to the immense moral concerns that this situation highlights so painfully
