In reply to the discussion: 'It's already in the cards': Trump impeachment urged by WSJ editorial board member [View all]NJCher
(39,719 posts)Is acknowledge that it takes lead time to get to impeachment. During that time, he'll no doubt be criming it up with the world economy for all to see. Also to suffer the financial consequences of his unrealistic theory about tariffs. In that time, what would be going on is:
First a member of the House has to introduce a resolution for impeachment, which is sort of like introducing a bill.
Next is the House Judiciary Committee Review. Are there sufficient grounds for impeachment? That's what they have to determine.
This step alone will force them to go on record as traitors, especially after this last week's blatant insider trading display.
Next the House has to vote on the Articles of Impeachment, assuming they find sufficient cause.
After that is a Senate Trial, where Fellow Traitor Justice Roberts presides. Traitor or not, the impeachment charges are public and it will be embarrassing to try to let this go.
Finally we have the Senate Vote, where a 2/3 majority is needed to convict.
If he is removed, we get the grand prize: J.D. Vance!
But the main point I want to make with this post is that the whole time he's criming in plain sight with the world's economy, earning the disgust and approbation of even Wall Street, he has this hanging over his head. It might temper him a bit, and as Baitball Blogger points out upthread, it serves to show the world that we can maybe be trusted just a teensy weensy little bit that we still acknowledge the Constitution.
And yes, I am aware that Vance/Thiel supports a "reset with China."
