outbreaks of foodborne illnesses associated with the foods it regulates, like the Salmonella outbreak linked to cucumbers in 2024.

Or... 2023 Cantaloupe Salmonella Outbreak: This was a significant outbreak linked to contaminated cantaloupe that resulted in illnesses across multiple states and a recall of the fruit. The investigation involved both the FDA and CDC.

Or... 2020 Peach Salmonella Outbreak: A Salmonella Enteriditis outbreak was linked to peaches from a specific grower and resulted in recalls across the US and in other countries.

And... Onions (Multiple Years): Onions have been the source of several large Salmonella outbreaks and recalls, including in 2020 and 2021.

Along with... 2024 E. coli O121:H19 Outbreak Linked to Organic Carrots: The CDC and FDA investigated an E. coli outbreak traced to organic carrots, prompting recalls by Grimmway Farms and others.

And don't forget... Lead Contamination in Applesauce (2023): This led to recalls of cinnamon applesauce pouches from various brands and resulted in illnesses, primarily affecting children.

Things will get much worse before it gets better.
