(37,913 posts)In many cases the girls were recruited from broken homes, parents missing, some were failing school or dropped out completely. The promise of money and acting jobs, or modelling jobs, was enticing to the girls. Their parental oversight was lax or non-existent. In some cases parents worked multiple jobs and the kids were on their own.
These weren't girls being raised in middle-class homes, you know? They weren't college-bound for sure. Ghislaine Maxwell and other adults knew how to recruit these teenage girls and get them to comply. It was shockingly easy to get one girl to recruit her friends, once she was "in the fold."
Epstein had no interest in boys, but he might have procured boys for some of his wealthy clients, if that was their interest. I don't know because the news stories haven't said anything about it. Whenever the DoJ documents are finally released I guess we'll find out.
