Refusing to listen to the numerous sources who warned we were losing people concerned about our role in the MidEast, and people whose pocketbooks were not reaching to the end of the month suggests the latter. I prefer the former - that means learning from our mistakes and widening our tent, not bashing those who felt excluded enough that they stayed home.
