8. States hanging together is a key strategy, but needs to go to a new level

The Blue and Purple states (with few exceptions, Texas being one) produce the vast majority of wealth, innovation, research breakthroughs, etc. that sustain this country. We really need to be thinking of ways to use that leverage to force better behavior by the taker states. I am not talking about secession, at least not in the literal sense. But I am talking about economic alliances among the producer states that would have the effect of punishing states that are not doing their part maintain a civil and prosperous society for the common good.

There are things that can be done and still be within the 4 corners of the Constitution, particularly the "Compacts" clause. These are very much worth discussing, but the first discussion needs to be the recognition that the time has come that the prosperous states MUST take strong action -- call it "tough love" if you will.
