14. This is not going to turn out well.

No one living in an occupied territory is going to willingly forgo freedom. there will be a constant insurgency because of this. They will see themselves as freedom fighters against an occupying fascist govt. It won't need to be taught to the young, they will internalize it with every day that passes, everyone denied freedom of movement and life. Israel.and hammas have been going tit for tat, interspersed with larger killings on both sides, for decades now. Nothing ever changes. Perhaps Israel should create a country on land given by a willing country. I realize Israel is on land it claims as given by God but so do Muslims. One problem is that three different interpretations of the same "book" rather than uniting people tear them apart. And then you have the power mongers like bibi and trump who want to develop it into a resort, as well as take advantage of the oil. I think I also heard years ago there may be rare earth minerals, as well... but I may be thinking of Afghanistan instead.

I just keep thinking if you have two boys who can't stand one another and fight down and dirty all the time you don't keep putting them in situations where they're in each other's face. You separate them and keep them apart as much as you can. Israel making itself a military enclave by taking more land from the Palestinians to use as a buffer zone, is just setting things up to circle all over again and again and again. And Israel's Minister calling all Palestinian children the enemy isn't going to go over well with anyone. Whether by bombing, starvation, or killing all of the next generation, genocide is still genocide. I'm not against Israelis or Palestinians, as people. I do think govts of both sides, actual or de facto, have been in the US or them mindset too long to think any other way. And more is the pity for it.

We're living Hitler 2.0 before making sure what was broke in Hitler 1.0 got fixed. Things are never black and white, but people in power don't know how to work with shades of grey or at least it doesn't seem like they want to. I'm not old enough to remember when Israel was created, but all my life I've heard of the terror and strife of both sides and it hurts the heart. Yes, Israel deserves to exist. There are too many the world over who bear the Jewish people ill will. But Palestinians also deserve their country, I still wonder how any PTB thought this would work.
