A collection of legal and press freedom nonprofits recently filed a bar complaint against Acting U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of New York John Sarcone III over allegations he may have "engaged in dishonest and unethical conduct warranting discipline."
The five-page complaint comes after a series of critical reports from the Times Union, the major daily newspaper for the Albany region.
One of those reports details how President Donald Trump's man in upstate New York is allegedly using a fake address in order to comply with residency rules that require the top federal prosecutor for any given district to actually live in the district they represent.
The complaint does not mince words and describes the purported residence as a "boarded up, uninhabitable Albany property" which "conveniently appears intended to prove his compliance with residency requirements for U.S. Attorneys provided by federal law."
