When my Ukrainian grandparents settled here in Ohio over 100 years ago, they were struggling farmers. Grandma had been a servant girl back in Ukraine, living in a home with a dirt floor.
Whenever Grandma spotted something catching the sunlight on the road that passed the farmhouse, she would urge Grandpa to investigate, but he never found the treasure she hoped for. "Something shiny on road, you go see!"
