The DU Lounge

The name of the store was Sorghum Crow's General Store. I shortened it to sorcrow for ease of logging in.

I'm not sure if I actually remember Sorghum Crow himself or just created a amalgam of old fellows from that area, a wiry-thin gray-haired guy in bib overalls.

I definitely remember his sorghum mill where the mule walked in circles to drive the mill to crush the cane to extract the juice that ultimately became delicious sorghum syrup.

The last time I saw the store it was long closed and had fallen into disrepair. The sign was barely readable and the building itself was nearly engulfed in kudzu. On a subsequent visit everything was gone having been bulldozed to make way for a subdivision.

I thought Sorghum Crow was an interesting name and just wanted to preserve it in a small way.
