Y'know why that is, though? A lot fewer people read, except for online junk. So, they learn spelling, grammar and punctuation from others who don't read.

They also learn to spell by listening to others talk, which is a horrible way to learn to spell. (Remember when teachers and parents told kids to "sound it out"? Yeah, try that with "pterodactyl" or something.)
