But if other shelters are like the one here there are at least 3 cats for every dog.

I always felt it is better to just release the cats that aren't adopted and are fixed, back into areas where there are plenty of places for shelter and rodents for sustenance.

The last time my daughter brought a couple of cats in she told them if they couldn't find homes to let her know. She has friends with stables that always keep cats around for Rodanthe control and friends for the horses.
