So, before, ringtone notification sounded for all new messages, now doesn't but sometimes for other things. Have done my version of due diligence - checked the settings for the different apps: The carrier, Google mail, phone and the Sound is On on all of them. Found on a Community post for the phone tha Power Saving should be Off, did that. Sent myself mail to check for notification and got none. A comment in Community said they had missed/delayed arrivals for lack of notification. The notification rings on the linked tablet, not the phone.

Worse problem was error message on phone Message saying to try again later. It went through a few minutes later but when the recipient answered , their message came in separately, not in my Mwssage place and it was an error pop, not text answer, and no notification. They Mail it sent myself went through but without notification. Notification for WhatsApp works.

Talking about the phone notifications only.
