with reference to our country... our democracy, IMNSHO.

As to the "independent press"... we lost that back in the g bush years. When he allowed the change to ownership limits, we lost our press. Now, all media is owned by very few individuals... very rich individuals. They control papers, tv, online mediaship, everything. I don't consider anything "independent" any longer unless it's the paper from around the block, or media news sites not taking money from corporations and their toadies.
