4. It must have done him good to talk about his experiences

Yesterday

My Dad served in the Navy, was radio operator on aircraft carrier USS Ranger and he certainly had stories, but he served after the war. My grandmother always said that she was grateful that none of her three boys was the right age for any war. However, my grandfather served in WWI, delivered ammunition to the front on horseback. My grandmother said he didn't like to talk about it, but would tell some stories to the children.

And I sure agree about that young man, I'm just so glad that he survived his ordeal and can share his story now.
