underpants's JournalCurtis LeMay (🔔 old timers) - Yes Trump went "Stone Age" last night.
LeMay has been the inspiration for several memorable movie characters. See below.During his prime-time address to the nation, Trump said, referring to Iran: We are going to hit them extremely hard over the next two to three weeks, were going to bring them back to the stone ages, where they belong.
Has the US made similar threats before?
The phrase bombing back to the stone ages is widely associated with US Air Force officer Curtis LeMay, in the context of US threats against North Vietnam in LeMays 1965 book, Mission with LeMay.
Were going to bomb them back into the Stone Age, he wrote. LeMay, who had played a central role in executing the World War II carpet bombing of Japanese cities in which between 240,000 and 900,000 people were killed, had by the time of the Vietnam War risen in rank to chief of Air Staff before he retired the year his book was published.
While he was no longer in office during some of the bloodiest US campaigns in Vietnam, American leaders appeared to follow through on Curtiss advice.

According to Michael S. Sherry, "Few American military officers of this century have been more feared, reviled, and ridiculed than Curtis E. LeMay."[86] According to Fred Kaplan:
Dr. Strangelove, Stanley Kubrick's 1964 film about nuclear-war plans run amok, is widely heralded as one of the greatest satires in American political or movie history. ... It was no secretit would have been obvious to many viewers in 1964that General Ripper looked a lot like Curtis LeMay, the cigar-chomping, gruff-talking general."[87]
University of Notre Dame Professor Dan Lindley points out parallels between LeMay and the characters of Buck Turgidson and Jack D. Ripper in Stanley Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove, including close paraphrasing of statements by LeMay.[88]
Fletcher Knebel and Charles W. Bailey II, authors of the novel Seven Days in May (later to be a 1964 film starring Kirk Douglas), conducted interviews with LeMay who was angry with Kennedy for refusing to provide air support for the Cuban rebels in the Bay of Pigs Invasion.[89][90] The character of General James Mattoon Scott was believed to have been inspired by both LeMay and General Edwin Walker.[91]

Trump Says Theres No Money for Daycare Because We Have to Fight Wars
I said to [Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought], Dont send any money for daycare because the United States cant take care of daycare. That has to be up to a state. We cant take care of daycare. Were a big country. We have 50 states. We have all these other people, Trump said. Were fighting wars. We cant take care of daycare. You got to let a state take care of daycare and they should pay for it, too. They should pay. Theyll have to raise their taxes, but they should pay for it. And we could lower our taxes a little bit to them to make up.
Its not possible for us to take care of daycare, Medicaid, Medicare, all these individual things. They can do it on a state basis. You cant do it on a federal. We have to take care of one thing: military protection. We have to guard the country. But all these little things, all these little scams that have taken place, all you have to you have to let states take care of them, Trump continued.

"Winning on day 1". My theory on Trump having the Ayatollah killed.
The premise is that Trump thought that by killing their leader, all of Iran would collapse because as far as he knows without Trump, the US would collapse.
He projected a delusion fueled by his worshipping cult both internally at the White House and externally by his actual maniacal cult.
He IS the state so every other country must be the same. With their leader gone, theyd naturally rally around his omnipresent strength.
Birthright citizenship- A few Q&A's from SCOTUS to Sauer. Text from Twitter.
GORSUCH: Do you think Native Americans are birthright citizens under your test?
SAUER: Ah, I think ... so. I have to think that through.
SAUER: We're in a new world where 8 billion people are one plane ride away from having a child who's a US citizen.
JOHN ROBERTS: It's a new world. It's the same Constitution.
Coney Barrett to Sauer: "You say the purpose of the 14th amendment was to put all newly freed slaves on equal footing and so they would be citizens. But that's not textual."
SCOTUS Justice Amy Coney Barrett now appears skeptical of striking down birthright citizenship for illegals
"I can imagine it being messy in some applications."
"What if you don't know who the parents are?"
Gorsuch: Im not sure how much you want to rely on Wong Kim Ark, referring to the watershed SCOTUS precedent protecting birthright citizenship.
He cuttingly refers to the Trump admins reliance on Roman law sources.
Looking predictably bad for Trump.
Barrett: If you're looking at parents and if you're looking at parents domicile, then you have to adjudicate both residents and intent to stay. What if you don't know who the parents are?
Sauer: I think there are marginal cases. That one, I think has the benefit of being addressed in 1401F
Barrett: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But what about the constitution?
Trump's White House ballroom project halted by judge
I see that there are media posts about this but I wanted print for those averse to the 🟦 & 🟥
A federal judge on Tuesday temporarily blocked President Trump's sprawling plans to build a massive ballroom where the East Wing of the White House once stood.
Why it matters: U.S. District Judge Richard Leon said Trump is the "steward," not the "owner" of the White House, and that the project "must stop until Congress authorizes its completion."
Driving the news: Leon granted the National Trust for Historic Preservation's request for a preliminary injunction, halting the administration's fast-tracked plans.
The trust has argued that the White House needs congressional approval for the extensive renovations and said in a filing earlier this month that "the President is a temporary tenant of the White Houseits steward, not its landlord," a notion that Leon echoed in his 35-page opinion.

The patient in Room 373 refuses to leave. Tallahassee woman discharged Oct. 6th has finally left.
I wanted to give the paper that broke this story its due.
TMH withdraws lawsuit against former patient who stayed after discharge
Court records show the hospital dropped the lawsuit March 16 a day after the Tallahassee Democrat broke the viral story. TMH filed a "notice of voluntary dismissal with prejudice," meaning the case is permanently closed, and the hospital cannot refile the same claim against the woman again.
All parties were supposed to virtually meet March 30 for a motion hearing that was promptly canceled after TMH dropped the suit.
When the lawsuit was originally filed, the hospital was asking the court to order the woman to leave the premises and authorize the Leon County Sheriff's Office to help in removing her.
News of TMH's move to sue the woman came at the same time that the city voted to transfer the hospital to the Florida State University. The hospital and university are still negotiating an agreement to create an academic medical center in Tallahassee, but commissioners' approval of the transfer brought the health care enterprise one step closer to reality.

ORLANDO, Fla. The patient in Room 373 refuses to leave.
According to the lawsuit, the woman was admitted to the hospital for medical treatment and a formal discharge order was issued Oct. 6 after it was determined that she no longer needed acute care services. The hospital has repeatedly made efforts to coordinate her departure with family members and offered transportation to obtain necessary identification, the lawsuit said.
Rachel Givens, an attorney for the hospital, said Wednesday that the hospital had no comment. Hospital spokeswoman Macy Layton said Wednesday that the hospital couldnt discuss active legal matters, in response to emailed questions, including about what type of identification the patient needed. The lawsuit doesnt say what the patient was treated for, what her hospital bill was or how she was able to stay at the hospital for more than five months despite being discharged.

🇺🇸 US flag optical illusion
Stare at the white dot for 30 seconds (count in your head) trying not to blink. Blinking once or twice should be okay. Then stare at a blank white wall. You should see the traditional red, white, and blue US flag - sometimes floating or in relief.
